Rebecca Hansen – obituary

Rebecca Hansen, born August 6, 1951.

With great sadness we announce Rebecca’s passing at home on January 2, 2016. Life love of dedicated husband David Garcia and dear mother to her children Matias (Lee-Ann), Noelia Elena (Douglas Tapp), and Anna Teresa (Stephen); she is also survived by her father, Richard C. Hansen and sister Jo Sullivan (Frank); She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Isabel, Gabriel, Clara, Sofia and two babes in the womb, and all her relatives in both sides of the Atlantic. She leaves a void in the hearts of her many friends.
Rebecca now rests in peace, joining her mother Ruth Ellen Hansen, and brother Rick Hansen.

A memorial service will be held outdoors in the Spring, with details to be provided by the family or by Gamble Funeral Home and Chapel in their web page.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rebecca’s memory to the Lanark County Food Bank or to Doctors Without Borders.

We thank the nurses and support personnel at CCAC, and family and friends who visited and supported Rebecca and the family during this difficult time.

Love is patient and kind;
love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude.

Love does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

So faith, hope, love abide, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
