Riverwalk fans turn out for plaque unveiling Saturday

by Brent Eades

A small but cheery crowd turned out in raw, wet weather Saturday to watch the unveiling of a plaque listing donors who helped fund construction of the Riverwalk.

Affixed to a stone slab behind Old Town Hall, the plaque is an upgrade to the donor names carved into the wood of the Riverwalk itself, which have faded and worn over the years.

Councillors Gillis and Edwards, Mayor McLaughlin

After the unveiling, Councillor Alex Gillis gave a presentation in Ron Caron Auditorium on the proposed next phase of the Riverwalk. It’s an ambitious and very interesting plan, and we’ll be reporting on it in the near future.
