Mississippi Mills' staff prudence results in a brand new fire truck

by Edith Cody-Rice

On April 28, Mississippi MIlls’ ladder fire truck was destroyed in an electical fire, but this story has a happy ending. Thanks to the prudence of town staff who arranged replacement insurance for fire vehicles, Mississippi Mills will soon take delivery of a spanking new 100-foot ladder truck valued at $789,787. The town’s total cost? The deductible of $10,000. The burnt out truck was approaching its retirement date, so instead of having to find 3/4 million dollars for a new truck next year, wise insurance has provided the town with a brand new truck  for $10,000.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHIEF ART BROWN AND TOWN STAFF!!
