Senior charged in Carleton Place shooting, victim in hospital

BECKWITH TOWNSHIP, ON – On October 7 2013 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Lanark County OPP received a report of a gunshot coming from an address on Arklan Road, a semi-rural dead-end street that runs off Lake Avenue on the outskirts of Carleton Place, east of McNeely Avenue.

A 47-year-old male victim is in hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

73-year-old John Graydon of Beckwith Township was arrested and is charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace. Following a court appearance today in Perth, Graydon was remanded into custody.
