Almonte General Hospital president & CEO Mary Wilson Trider responds to CBC’s “Rate my Hospital"

AGH is committed to providing safe, high-quality care for our patients and residents.

As of April 11, 2013, we are very pleased with the Rate My Hospital feedback from people who have used the Hospital. This feedback is reflected in the star-based ratings, including a five-star score for “would you recommend the hospital.”

AGH has processes in place to review cases of clinical concern when they occur and to make improvements if the case review shows that there is an opportunity to do so.

AGH is committed to transparency and is fully compliant with the reporting requirements of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).

AGH takes the CIHI data seriously and will be reviewing all of the cases in both categories cited.

We would like to note that we have been unable to replicate the calculations that resulted in CBC assigning grades to us.

The hospital profile data also contains factual errors related to data that is easily obtained from the AGH website, including bed numbers and the existence of an Emergency Department.

Editor’s Note: The AGH also pointed out the Ontario Hospital Association’s  response to the CBC rating.
