Suspects sought in theft from Almonte Minor Hockey

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is looking for those responsible for the recent theft of hockey equipment provided for the youth of the Almonte and District Minor Hockey Association.

Sometime between the evening of Wednesday May 30th and the morning of Friday June 1st person(s) unknown entered the Almonte Community Center while it was open and broke into two storage rooms by cutting the locks to the rooms – one room belongs to the Almonte Minor Hockey Association while the other belongs to the Almonte Figure Skating Club.

Stolen in this theft were a number of sets of goalie pads provided by Minor Hockey for those kids who want to play hockey but don’t have their own equipment. The estimated value of the stolen property is estimated at $2000 dollars.

Although, the Figure Skating Club room was broken into it appears that nothing was stolen.

Anyone with information regarding the theft of this hockey equipment is asked to contact the Lanark County OPP Detachment at 613-267-2626 or 1-888-310-1122. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 keeping in mind you do not have to provide your name nor do you have to testify in court and if your information leads to an arrest you qualify for a cash reward.
