Once a season, the Yard of the Week is awarded to a Mississippi Mills business.
This week the Almonte and District Horticultural Society has chosen the gardens at Evermore, the wedding destination at 4960 County Road 29. Owners Joel Schramek and Janice Mathers have enhanced the renovated barns with creative landscaping.
The pathways and hard landscaping were designed by Cooney Construction & Landscaping.
The stunning gardens, designed by Katharine Webster, feature contrasting colour combinations of blues and purples with yellow and orange hues in a wide variety of plant material that changes with the seasons. Shrubs and evergreens in cascading or standard forms provide contrast to the containers overflowing with flowers.
The colour scheme of the front yard gardens is continued behind the barns with twice the area surrounding the wedding arch. The gardens are a feast for the eyes of people passing by as well as the couples getting married there.
