Almonte and District Horticultural society contributes to the community

by Marilyn Snedden

Saturday morning the Almonte and District Horticultural Society held a very successful plant sale at the Library parking lot. The cold drizzly weather was a dramatic change from a week previous but it didn’t deter hardy gardeners.

In warmer days several members cleaned up many bags of leaves and
garbage from the library area along the chain link fence

The best ever display of tulips planted by the society last fall at the cenotaph makes a glorious statement. The Almonte Legion and Mississippi Mills contribute to the cost of the public plantings in Almonte but many hours of volunteer labour are donated as well.
