So says the cover of the February issue of theHumm, our region’s monthly arts and entertainment paper.
Distributed free in communities across the Ottawa Valley, theHumm was founded by Kris and Rob Riendeau with several partners two decades ago. Those partners stepped back over time and Kris and Rob now serve as editor and designer respectively, assisted by Rona Fraser on the events calendar front. A talented roster of contributors and columnists provides much of the content. Circulation of the paper is between 7,000 and 9,000 copies per issue.
One regular feature is ‘Who’s Reading theHumm?’, featuring photos of people reading the paper in far-flung places. Some of those have been celebrities — a partial list includes Colm Feore, Karen Kain, David Suzuki, Lorne Elliott, Mr. Dressup, Stephen Fearing, and Brent Butt.
