Film Society has new locale

Just in time for the winter season, the Mississippi Mills Film Society is moving to a new location, the Legion, 100 Bridge St. in Almonte. Their first showing in this new locale will be Sunday, February 16, 2 p.m. for the Canadian comedy/drama “Suze”. Filmed in Hamilton, ON, and directed by Canadian directors Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart, this is the compelling story of a mother’s plight when she takes in her absent daughter’s boyfriend. Dealing with angst-ridden youth is never easy, but it can result in tenderness, comedy, and a heart-warming story.

For an entirely different experience on March 16, the Film Society has procured ‘Tuesday”, a fantasy drama starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a mother facing the death of her daughter. Shape-shifting, special effects, and suspense add to the attraction of this unique story.

Tickets for all the Society’s films are available through www.ticketsplease.ca at $15.00 each. There is on-street parking and an elevator at the Legion.

The Mississippi Film Society is pleased to be supporting the Mississippi Mills Public Library through these screenings.
