Almonte’s 1st Metis Kitchen Party – Food, Fiddles and Frolic!

Almonte’s historic Agricultural Hall:  On Friday, October 2, from 6pm to 11 pm. Reconciliation Through Art brings you a truly unique experience.

The Food

Experience a hearty bison stew, with a fall salad and side of bannock. And for dessert – fresh bear paws with your choice of toppings. This hearty meal will be prepared by Métis caterer, Manitou Bistro from Renfrew, and Tyendinaga’s Frybread Queen. The Fiddles

The walls of the North Lanark Agricultural Hall will reverberate with song and story. Manitoban fiddlers Lionel Desjarlais and Jason Lepine, and award-winning singer-songwriter Amanda Rheaume and the Mamawin’towin Band will be revving up our hearts AND the dance floor!

The Frolic

The Edmonton Traditional Métis Dancers, a vibrant multi-generational troupe of eight, will whirl and twirl, demonstrating traditional Métis dancing.

With the help of Almonte’s JJ’s Steppers, Amanda Rheaume will get everyone line dancing to her tune “Come on Down to Flossies!’ Be ready to toe tap, jig, click spoons or line dance.
