On the afternoon of June 11, 2015 at the intersection of Highway # 15 and the 10th Line of Beckwith, a passenger vehicle was stopped at the intersection and was hit from behind by a pick –up truck. Both of the vehicles caught on fire as well as a hydro pole. Beckwith Fire Department attended and extinguished the fires. Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Highway #15 was temporarily closed for approximately 1 ½ hours.
As a result of the investigation the driver of the pick-up truck, 42 year old Susan Blanchard of Carleton Place is charged with Careless Driving .
