Almonte Inferno narrowly lose inaugural home opener

The Almonte Inferno Jr Hockey Club played their inaugural home opener on Saturday night at the Almonte Arena.  The visiting St. Isidore Eagles came away with a 3-2 victory, netting the game-winning goal with 5 seconds remaining.

The Eagles, who never trailed in the game, opened the scoring less than 3 minutes in. The Inferno answered later in the opening period with a goal from Landon Prosty, who put home a rebound off a slap shot from the blue line.

The Inferno entered the 3rd period trailing 2-1, before Braden Kehoe scored the equalizer, sending a backhand shot through the 5 hole of the St. Isidore goaltender.

The Inferno fall to 0-2 on the season and will look for their 1st win in a home game against the South Grenville Rangers today at 1 pm.
