We’re pleased to welcome new resident and award-winning photographer Adrien Duey to town. Adrien sends us this information about his show at Chelsea’s La Fab Gallery.
The photographer’s collection of Foundry Patterns (the wooden shapes used to create molds in the foundry casting process) includes a diverse range of shapes, textures, and sizes. Originally destined to become metal parts, any single artifact is only a piece in the puzzle, as it may not be evident what role it played in the final assembly. Chosen for their distinctive character and shape, the hand-made wooden artifacts were grouped to create new shapes, and placed on backgrounds painted and transformed by the artist.
Originally from Montreal, Adrien Duey is an established, award-winning photographer (Applied Arts, New York Art Directors Club, etc., & twice nominated for Junos for album art.) Adrien has relocated to Almonte and teaches at SPAO (School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa).
Galerie La Fab Gallery is located at: 212, Chemin Old Chelsea, in Chelsea, Qc.
