Local musician and University of Ottawa alumnus Andrew Jahn has officially crossed the 90% milestone in his ambitious “Something for Everyone” campaign, raising $9,030.50 of his $10,000 target for the Lanark County Food Bank (The Hunger Stop). The fundraiser is pacing to hit its final goal ahead of the highly anticipated grand finale concert on Saturday, August 29th at Almonte United Church.
The sudden momentum is driven by a wave of community support surrounding Jahn’s popular “Busking for Everyone” mini-series outside the Carleton Place Tourism Centre. The push was further accelerated by a highly successful six-day relay matching campaign that raised over $2,000. Local partners Anytime Fitness Carleton Place, Knights of Columbus St. Volodymyr the Great Council 9557, Reid Gardens, and arts philanthropist Marg Campbell all rallied together to match community donations dollar-for-dollar. Anytime Fitness also launched a food drive at the gym. 
For Jahn, the campaign represents a deeply personal, full-circle journey. From 2019 to 2022, he was a struggling post-secondary student who relied directly on the Lanark County Food Bank to get by. Today, he is utilizing his rising platform as a professional musician to strengthen the exact community safety net that supported him. Jahn believes in a “bottom up approach” to fundraising, where the artist goes directly to the people and builds the community up from within.
Jahn successfully navigates two distinct musical worlds, using an accessible pop persona for community outreach while simultaneously advancing through the professional classical system as a composer. He is slated to make his formal debut as a commissioned classical composer in 2027 under the sponsorship of Marg Campbell and the direct mentorship of Juno-nominated Canadian composer Iman Habibi, with special project details releasing this September.
The community is invited to celebrate the culmination of this campaign at the “Something for Everyone” Final Concert on Saturday, August 29th, from 3-5pm at the Almonte United Church on 106 Elgin Street. Husband and wife business owners Chris Hashimoto and Holly Agnew of Limelight Chiropractic and Agnew Law Group are co-matching matching donations up to $250.00 at the door.
