Angus James Carroll – obituary

Carroll, Angus JamesCARROLL, ANGUS JAMES

(July 3, 1928 – March 15, 2014)

With his loving family by his side, Angus peacefully went home to our Lord and Saviour on March 15, 2014. Leaving behind to honour him fondly are his devoted bride and sweetheart of more than sixty years, Mary (née Mantil) and his eight cherished children: Jim (Joan), Kathy Knight (Charlie Pilson), Colleen (Daryl Cleroux), Judy (Jack Wood), Jane (John Hickey), Robert (Lynn), Richard (Karen Bruce) and Theresa (Chris McPhail). He will be forever missed and loved by his sixteen grandchildren: Matthew, Sarah, Emily, Sheena (Paul), John, Lindsay (Adam), Donald (Ashley), Melissa, David (Olivia), Julia, Darcy, Marguerite, Ryan, Kayleigh, Steven, Alex and by his two great-grandchildren Peyten and Surielle. Generous, sincere and blessed with a quick Irish wit, Angus will be remembered for his kindness and humility and the special relationship he fostered with each and every member of his family. Loving one’s family completely and unconditionally is the true measure of success and this Angus taught in life and in death. Predeceased by his parents Cecelia and James, brothers Joe (Kay), Emmett, Gerald (Betty) and Edgar (Donna), and sisters Carmel (Angus Killeen and Leonard Grace) Bertha (Gerald Vaughan), and Theresa (Grant Murphy), Angus is survived by his sister Mary O’Keefe (Basil) and many nieces and nephews whose company he truly enjoyed. Friends may pay their respects at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Corkery on Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery in the spring alongside his family and friends who have gone before him. For those who wish, a mass card or a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Condolences, donations, and tributes may be made at www. tubmanfuneralhomes.com.
