1. Jay Hill, a former leader of the House of Commons under Steven Harper, is the new interim leader of Wexit Canada, which has been granted eligibility to run candidates in federal elections.  Wexit comprises British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
2.  Pegasus was the winged horse who was fabled to have sprung from the blood of Medusa, and who caused a fountain to spring forth on Mount Helicon.  He was the favourite mount of the Muses.

3.  2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife to commemorate the birth year, 1820, of Florence Nightingale.

4.  The Inuit Art Centre is to be built in Winnipeg.  The Winnipeg Art Gallery, whose project it is, has the largest collection of Inuit art in the world.
5.  Sidney Poitier was the first African-American male to win an Oscar, for his leading role in the 1963 movie ‘Lilies of the Field’ in 1963.
