Christmas history at the North Lanark museum

Happy Holidays!

The North Lanark Historical Society and Regional Museum believe that local history, heritage, culture, and quality of life are fundamental to building a sustainable, prosperous, and diversified community in Mississippi Mills, and we strive to be an exemplary institution in our community and at large. To this end, we are excited to offer our community the opportunity to celebrate the 2021 holiday season in safe, vintage style at the North Lanark Regional Museum on the weekend of December 11th and 12th.

We hope you will not only join us for a timed visit of our historic displays, music, crafts, and treats, but also consider supporting our event!

Would you like to share your holiday heirlooms and heritage? We are looking for loans of items representative of Christmas in Lanark County (toys, cards, Christmas stockings, lights, ornaments, photos, letters, old adverts, etc.). If you care to support or be a part of our historic community festivities, please contact Amy Gerus at 613-257-8503 or nlrmuseum@gmail.com

Donations of a fresh Christmas tree, wreaths and garlands, holiday cider, hot chocolate, disposable cups and plates, treats, and items for our adult and children’s raffle baskets would be most welcome. We are also looking for carollers and musicians who might consider dropping by to serenade our visitors. In exchange, we will be pleased to reciprocate with a little goodwill, or a business card-sized advertisement on our website and holiday song sheet handouts.
