Filmmaker with Almonte roots plans Hallmark Christmas parody

Brennan Martin, who grew up in Almonte, tells us about a new film he’s working on set in Almonte, called ‘The Friendly Town.’

Brennan says it’s a parody of Hallmark Christmas films:

“Best friends Anton and Chloe come home for the holidays to find the town living through cliche Christmas storylines, and every few minutes, another gorgeous woman is dropped off in the middle of town. The two realize they need to escape the town before they become the next happy couple.”

Brennan has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for the production.

“It’s a tongue in cheek poke at Hallmark films, where Almonte actually gets to play itself! We’re really hoping that we get the chance to make it! And we’re looking for some good community support,” Brennan said.
