Frank Colton — obituary

COLTON, Frank

With immense sadness the family announces that Frank “FJ” Colton, passed away peacefully at Arnprior Hospital on Saturday January 4, 2025. He was 93.

Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years, Helen. Much beloved father of Kim (Duane) and Mike (Marybeth). He was the proud and loving grandpa to Hope (Stacey), Rebecca, Colton, Shelby, Mollie (Dylan), and Mac. Proud great-grandpa of Diane and Percy.

Dear brother of MaryAlice (Wilfred, deceased), Sarah (Bob), Clare (Roger), Owen (Marilyn), and Martha. Predeceased by Burns, Jim (Cecile), Leo, Frances (Ray), and George (Shirley Dawn).

Frank had too many nieces and nephews to count, who will miss him greatly.

Frank was the oldest boy of 11 siblings. Born during the depression, times were very lean on the farm. He was looked up to by his siblings and was instrumental in their upbringing. Frank wanted to be a lawyer. However, he left school to run the farm when his father, Wilfred, became ill. He had a very strong work ethic and spent most of his career working for James’ Landscaping, until he retired at age 78.

Frank’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the Pilon Family in Arnprior. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church in Pakenham on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 12 o’clock. Celebration of life to follow at Pilon Family Reception Centre, 50 John St. N., Arnprior. Internment at St. Peter Celestine Catholic Cemetery in Spring 2025.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frank’s memory to either the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), or the Renfrew Snowsuit Fund.
