The month of May is when turtles start to find places to lay their eggs and, unfortunately for them one of the most attractive locations are along the shoulders of highways and county roads.

Please keep them in mind as you travel. This turtle stopped to pose while crossing the Old Almonte Road – not to worry, after the photo session she was escorted across the road in the direction that she was heading.
