Full house at ‘Almonte’s Interwoven Past’ film premiere

Saturday night was a night of memories, history and fun! The Town Hall Auditorium was packed for the official documentary film premiere of ‘Almonte’s Interwoven Past’. Viewers were captivated by the story of Almonte’s beginnings and its rise to being one of the largest mill towns in Canada. Danny Albert serenaded the audience before the film as they enjoyed the Museum displays and the delectable cookies from the Friends of the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.  A lot of memories were brought back Saturday night and the film left viewers wanting more.  The Newtons’ are planning on producing Part 2 in 2013, which will cover the period from the late 1950s to the present.  There are still a few DVDs and Blu-Rays left for purchase from Rob Newton at 613-256-2483.
