Peacefully in hospital, surrounded by his family on Monday, May 26, 2014 in his 80th year. Beloved husband for 57 years of Atholea. Loving father of Gerald (Darlene), Rob (Karen), Danny (Debbie) and Greg (Sharon). Very proud grandfather of his 10 grandsons Kyle, Mark (Sarah), Travis, Shawn, Jack, Eric, Bill, Mitch, Jeff and Colin. Predeceased by his sister Edna and brother Gary. Special thanks to all the staff at the Almonte General Hospital for the care and compassion given to Gene. Friends may pay their respects at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, on Thursday, May 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 30, at 2 p.m. Interment Holy Name of Mary Parish Cemetery.
