The Hub Hospice was pleased with the public response to its display at the Mississippi Mills Seniors’ Expo on September 11. Board members and volunteer visitors were on hand to explain the benefits of the hospice service to interested seniors. Several people signed up to become visitors themselves, while others picked up the brochures offered to learn more about our service and about advance care planning. It was heartwarming for our booth spokespeople to hear of others who have taken advantage of comforting palliative care for family members. It reinforced the importance of this service as an adjunct to medical care when patients wish to remain in their homes as long as they can.
