Join the Woods Singers of Almonte

The Woods Singers of Almonte are back from a hiatus and are ready to begin another exciting year of harmonious music under the accomplished direction of Tony Stuart from Perth, who is excited to be sharing his talents with us.

Tony was a professional musician in the Canadian Armed Forces, before he became a music teacher at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Carleton Place.  He also has had experience as the choir director for St. Andrews United Church in Pakenham, but he is now retired from those positions. Currently, Tony is active as a professional musician with The Somerset Combo, and he works in other capacities as well.  He is married to Cynthia, is the father of three lucky boys, and lives in beautiful Perth.

So now that we have a new director, the choir organizers have set September 17 as our starting date for the fall session.  We will meet at our previous site, the Community Presbyterian Church, 111 Church Street in Almonte, from 10 AM until 12 PM each Thursday morning until November 26.  So far, 27 people are planning to return to sing together.  Fees will be determined once we have an accurate number of participants and will not exceed $100 for the term. Also, we will get to keep our own music, and most of us do so in our own binders.

As always, we look forward to increasing our numbers, and any skill level is accepted.  We are not a performing choir. Our goal is to enjoy singing and make it a social outing, so please feel free to seek out other singers who may wish to join us.  We are also hoping to increase the numbers in our tenor and bass sections.

Thank you to those who have agreed to help with all the “behind-the-scenes” efforts to reinstate our beloved choir.  We look forward to singing with you.
