Retired RN – Almonte General Hospital

Marlene passed away peacefully at the Almonte General Hospital on Sunday, March 16th with her family by her side. Marlene was born in Looe, Cornwall England and came to Canada in her early 20’s.  It was in Almonte that she met her future husband, started her family and began her 35+ years nursing career. 

Beloved wife of the late Allan Julian, daughter of the late Ronald and Heather Pengelly and sister to the late Phillip Pengelly. Forever in the hearts of her precious husband and her family that passed before her. Forever the most giving and caring nurse to so many.Forever the luckiest woman to have such an amazing group of friends.  Forever an angel in heaven to her children and grandchildren.

Marlene leaves behind to cherish her memory, her seven children, Linda (Larry Wall), Clint, Tracy (Kim Curran), Tim (Bonnie), Allison Vaughan (Danny), Jennifer and Katy (John Smith). Also her eight adoring grandchildren, Shayne, Terry, Lawrence, Jessica, Richard, Joseph, Taylor and Sydney. The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the amazing nurses at the Almonte General Hospital for their compassionate devotion to Mum. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to Celebrate Marlene’s Life at the Almonte United Church, 106 Elgin Street, Almonte on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at JR’s restaurant in Almonte.  Interment later in the spring at Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.
