The North Lanark Agricultural Society has turned to the GoFundMe crowd-funding website to help raise the money needed to preserve and restore the 146-year-old Agricultural Hall at the Almonte fairgrounds.
According to the NLAS, “exterior boards have deteriorated and water is penetrating through the walls, affecting the interior. The roof is also in need of some TLC. As an organization run solely by volunteers, we are in need of financial help. The interior of the hall will be in need of repair in the years to come, in order to continue to operate. Any help you can give is much appreciated in helping to save this historical building.”
According to Wikipedia, “crowd-funding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.”
