OPP arrest man wanted for assault in Almonte

The Lanark County OPP Crime Unit has arrested an adult male wanted in connection with an assault in the Town of Almonte.

On the 25th May 2012, at approximately 4:55 pm, a male touched a female in an inappropriate manner as they walked past each other on the street in Almonte. A short time later another female was spoken to in an inappropriate sexual manner in a local store in Almonte by a male who is believed to be the same suspect.

A twenty year old Almonte resideent has been arrested and charged by the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit with one count of sexual assault and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing today in Perth.

The public can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 with information on these or other assaults and are reminded they do not have to provide their name, nor testify in court and if their information leads to an arrest they may qualify for a cash reward.
