The new Patient Experience Survey supports the ongoing commitment of the Local Health Integration Networks to involve patients/families/caregivers and engage with communities to inform its decision-making. The survey was developed by patients and families, for patients and families. By engaging and hearing from the voice of patients, families and caregivers, we can continue to shape our health care system for the future.
LHINs see an immense value in understanding the patient experience at the system level which focuses across sectors and includes “transitions of care”. This perspective complements rather than duplicates other sector and health service provider level work.
The survey is accessible here: Patient Experience Survey. We encourage as many people as possible in the LHIN region to complete the Patient Experience Survey by February 19, 2015. This Patient Experience Survey is a way to measure:
- How easy it is for patients to access the care they need and navigate their local health system
- The overall quality of care patients receive
- How satisfied patients are with the care they receive
- Ways we can improve our health care system
You can access the survey through the Champlain LHIN website www.champlainlhin.on.ca.
The survey is designed to complement the ongoing surveys and other initiatives that are already underway in your organization to assess the patient/family/caregiver experience. We look forward to sharing results with you and thank you for your support to help champion the survey as we seek to better understand the patient experience at the system level.
Should you experience difficulties accessing the link to the survey, do not hesitate to contact Jessica Searson, Community Engagement Coordinator at Jessica.Searson@lhins.on.ca or 613-747-3239.
