
The Millstone is very happy to welcome experienced journalist Rosalyn Stevens to the volunteer staff of the Millstone. Rosalyn was born and raised in Mississippi Mills, joining the world of journalism with a high-school work term at the local newspaper. A graduate of the Algonquin College Print Journalism program, Rosalyn has worked in Almonte, Carleton Place, rural Saskatchewan and Ottawa for various publications as both reporter and editor. In 2010 she was honoured to receive the prestigious Media with a Heart Award from the Ottawa Community Housing Corporation. In 2011, Rosalyn left her position to pursue further education at Carleton University, where she is currently studying political science and history.
Rosalyn will focus on reporting on municipal, provincial and federal politics. Rosalyn’s first article for the Millstone is a report on the Mississippi Riverwatchers information meeting concerning the proposed Enerdu hydro generation project, held Thursday April 11, 2013 Rosalyn brings enthusiasm, excitement, dedication and an irrepressible curiosity to her new role with The Millstone.
