Water-test salesmen falsely imply affiliation with the Town

waterThe Town of Mississippi Mills has received calls from residents regarding companies going door to door offering water-quality testing and sales of water treatment systems.  These companies have implied on several occasions that they are working in association with the municipality on a water quality inspection program.  The Town is taking steps to notify residents that it has no affiliation with any of these companies or their dealings in door-to-door sales.

The only water quality sampling carried out in the Town of Mississippi Mills is conducted by Town employees or staff of the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA).    In all cases where testing is required, the Town contacts residents in advance to advise of the purpose of any program being carried out.  It’s recommended that residents be aware of these organizations and exercise caution in any future dealings.

If you should have any questions or concerns about regarding the above notice, please contact the Public Works Department at (613) 256-2064 ext 258.
