The cool, bright days ahead will be ideal for taking an outdoor hike or a leisurely stroll at the nearby Mill of Kintail. Enjoy the beautiful colours on the Riverside Trail and, along the way, be sure to stop in at the historic Mill to discover some exceptionally colourful art. Without Exception: Exceptional Art from Beautiful Minds showcases the talents of artists with special needs within the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. Chris Drake, former Notre Dame High School student, was one of the first artists to inspire teacher Sarah Jaynes to start this program. Eight years later, this outstanding initiative has grown to include 43 artists from all over the CDSBEO. Prints of the paintings will be for sale and revenue from the sale of merchandise is donated to the Good Samaritan Trust Fund, to support students and families in difficulty.
This year’s exhibition centres on the theme of “fish”, and the bold, bright canvases reflect a unique perspective of the underwater world. Their vibrant reds, yellows and greens are a perfect complement to the autumn colours outside in the forests of the Mill of Kintail. This year, take the time to enjoy the splendour of exceptional colours at the Mill of Kintail.
The exhibition and the Mill of Kintail Museum is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 3:30, Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 – 4:30, until October 11th.
