Youthful faces wanted for Almonte sculpture

by Stephen Brathwaite

Shelter/Tissage is a sculpture done by myself, and Jennifer Ryder Jones of Blakeney, for the NCC to commemorate Canada 125 in 1992.

It is being restored and installed in Almonte and some new faces are required as a Mississippi Mills legacy for Canada 150. Ideally I’m looking for young people (our future) from 10 to 20 years of age.

If you have ideas about who should be included please forward names and a bit about the person and contact info. We will likely cast 10-12 individuals and use choose 4 to 6 for inclusion in the piece. We are hopeful that this will be a permanent installation in Metcalfe Park near the road. Deadline is 30th of November for names in order to be able to cast in early December. The piece will be installed in the spring.
