UPDATE
Mayor Lowry issued this statement today:
Statement from the Office of the Mayor
June 26, 2025
On behalf of Mississippi Mills Council and staff, I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Archer Lowe who passed following a tragic accident in Almonte yesterday. I also offer heartfelt condolences to Archer’s friends, classmates, teammates, and the R. Tait McKenzie Public School and Holy Name of Mary Catholic School Communities.
Archer was an important member of our community. He was a vibrant kid with a big smile who loved animals, especially his dog “Moose”. He loved riding his bike and was a terrific soccer player – the best and fastest defence in his league.
Together, our community would normally be sharing in the happiness and celebration that marks the end of the school year. Instead, this a somber and solemn time. Our community shares in the deep pain brought by this tragedy. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of young Archer and stand in support of all those who are grieving and to those affected by this accident. Mississippi Mills is a community strongly bound by compassion, and genuine care for one another. Together, we mourn this heartbreaking loss and will be there for all those touched by this tragedy.
Flags at all municipal buildings have been lowered to honour Archer. Please continue to hold Archer’s family, his school family, and all those affected in your heart, thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Mayor Christa Lowry
Municipality of Mississippi Mills
