In the latest edition of Home Hospice North Lanark’s newsletter, we take a moment to reflect on the growth of our organization, the dedication of our volunteers, and the impact of our work in the community. At the heart of this issue is an article written by Ruth DuBois, BScN, MA “When Greif Overshadows the Holiday Season”. For many, holiday traditions are eclipsed by feelings of sadness and loss, especially when loved ones are missing due to enforced distance, illness, or death
This issue also highlights our commitment to strengthening HHNL’s foundation for the future. We welcome Shirley Chennette, RSW as our new Executive Director, Sharon Sinfield as our Donor Relations and Communications Coordinator. As well as a new board member, Erin Tighe.
As HHNL continues to grow, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of hospice care. In this issue, we highlight our volunteers. Volunteering benefits our community by addressing unmet needs, strengthening social connections, and improving overall resilience and well-being. Volunteers provide essential services that support local organizations, foster a sense of belonging, and inspire greater civic engagement among residents.
Are you looking for a unique gift? We can help. In this issue we have some suggestions on some meaningful gifts. This year, consider giving a gift that brings comfort, hope, and support to individuals and families in our community. HHNL offers several thoughtful options that not only warm hearts but also helps us sustain the compassionate care we provide year-round.
Spring may feel a long way off as we head into the winter months, but our Tree Fundraiser is already growing support for the important work HHNL provides year-round. Now is a great time to purchase a tree—as a gift, in memory of a loved one, or to celebrate someone’s new home—while the selection is still at its best.
Your purchase helps ensure compassionate care for our community. You can shop the variety of trees available at hhnl.ca/trees
