Karl Brushett — obituary

Brushett, Karl Alexander

September 19, 1963–February 6, 2026

With heavy hearts we said our final goodbyes to our beloved dad, husband and sibling Karl who passed away suddenly in Almonte, Ontario.

A devoted and beloved father to Justin, Jennifer (Chris), Samantha (Jimmy) and Stephanie (Janice). He was a loving husband and soul mate for 40 years to Paulette (nee Kearley), a partnership built on deep commitment, laughter and shared life memories.  Predeceased by his parents John Robert and Margaret Brushett and father-in-law Harold Kearley of Bay d’Espoir, Newfoundland.  Karl will be missed by his brothers John (Daphne), Dana (Darlene), Claude (Peggy) and sister Glynnis (Gary), brother in laws Glen (Crystal), Derek (Debbie), Nelson (Wendy), sister in law Tina (Tom), and mother-in-law Doris. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and fur babies.

Karl was a true nature and animal lover, he enjoyed his many “deer runs.” He loved hunting and being outside every chance he could. He was known by his work colleagues as uncle Karl. A hard worker who was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Karl had a love for music and played guitar since he was a youth, although he never mastered the art of learning the full lyrics to a song. He shared his love of music with everyone around him. You could always hear him whistling or humming a tune.

When we lose someone we love, they never really leave us. They just move into a special place in your heart.

Please join us at Gamble Funeral Home & Chapel at 127 Church Street, Almonte on Feb 19, 2026 for a Celebration of Life.  Visitation from 1-2 pm, Celebration of Life at 2pm followed by refreshments.

Help us honour Karl by wearing camouflage attire.
