The Clayton Recreation Committee is pleased to announce the installation of a new Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) for community use. A PAD—often referred to as an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)—is a simple, portable device that can save a life by checking heart rhythm and delivering a shock if needed during sudden cardiac arrest. These devices are designed for anyone to use, providing clear voice and visual prompts that guide you step‑by‑step in an emergency.
Having a PAD available in our community helps ensure that lifesaving action can begin immediately while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
This new PAD was made possible thanks to generous donations from local residents and support from the Township of Mississippi Mills. The Clayton Recreation Committee is also partnering with the Lanark Paramedic Service to offer public training and awareness sessions in the coming weeks.
The PAD is mounted outside the Clayton Community Centre at 147 Linn Bower Lane and is accessible 24 hours a day.
The official unveiling will be on May 25 at 11:30 AM at the Clayton Community Center.
