Good morning,
I am a taxpaying resident of Almonte and wish to comment on a ghoulish Halloween item resembling a person hanging from a tree. This display is located at the entrance to our town on Ottawa street.
As a concerned resident who values the small town I am blessed to live in I think this display sends the wrong message to youth and all who view it. A youth centre recently opened up just down the street .. Are we not concerned about the mental health problems our youth face?
This display can also remind us of the situation in the deep south during the 1960’s where lynchings occurred.
I have contacted the Municipal office which informed me that because its private property they can do nothing.
