The Service Ontario branch at 154 Bridge Street in Almonte closed for good in December 2013. Mississippi Mills residents must now use offices located in Carleton Place and Stittsville for their Service Ontario needs. They may also use the online services at www.serviceontario.ca. The Almonte office, the only one to close in Ontario, was slated for shutdown after the service provider indicated she could no longer operate the office. Service Ontario offices issue drivers licences, licence plate renewal and health cards and handle vehicle transfers.
