Almonte Suites: Something new in local accommodations

Since buying her new business at 139 Reserve Street last year, Melanie Cummings has spent countless hours renovating and restoring the property with the aid of an expert team. The result is The Almonte Suites, a bright and airy 19th-century home in the heart of Almonte offering two self-contained suites complete with kitchens, available for both short- and long-terms stays.

Melanie has hosted a steady stream of guests since opening her doors last September, some staying for up to three months. They’ve included wedding parties, returning snowbirds, weekend visitors to town, and people here on business.

The Junior Suite on the ground floor is a 1-bedroom unit with a fully-equipped kitchen, private entrance, and a a den with a 50” Smart TV. The second-floor Grand Suite has two bedrooms, and similar amenities; it also offers a sun room at the front, and a large deck facing toward the river.

The entire property can be rented for groups of up to 10 people.

Rates start at $119 a night for the Junior Suite and $165 a night for the Grand Suite  in the off-season. Weekly and monthly rates are also available.
