1. June 6th, 1944, was the WWII date of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord.
2.  Manitoba was the first province, in 1916, to grant women the right to vote in provincial elections.
3.  Leonard Cohen composed ‘So Long, Marianne’ for his longtime love and muse, the Norwegian Marianne Ihlen.
4.  The phrase, ‘May the force be with you’ comes from the 1977 movie, ‘Star Wars’.  It was used to offer good will or good fortune to the addressee.

5.  The Scoville Scale measures the pungency, or hotness, of peppers.  Bell peppers are the mildest on the scale, and pepper x the hottest, followed by Dragon’s Breath peppers.
