Caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness?

Are you caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness—or navigating one yourself? There’s support for you.

Caring for someone with a life-limiting illness can be deeply meaningful—but also exhausting, isolating, and emotionally overwhelming. For those living with illness, the days can feel long and lonely. And for caregivers, the responsibility can feel like too much to carry alone.

That’s where Home Hospice North Lanark’s Day Hospice comes in.

This free weekly program—held every Friday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. in Carleton Place—offers a compassionate, welcoming space for people living with a life-limiting illness, and an opportunity for caregivers to connect or take a few hours for themselves.

Whether you’re seeking conversation, companionship, gentle activities like art or music therapy, or just a break from the daily routine, Day Hospice is here to help.

Led by experienced nurses and trained volunteers, the program is grounded in kindness, community, and comfort. Participants can expect refreshments, laughter, a supportive environment—and the chance to feel like themselves again.

Walkers and wheelchairs are welcome (1-person assist), and caregivers may attend or take respite. Pre-registration is required.

Not sure if the Day Hospice program is right for you or your loved one? Emily and Sidney, our caring Program Coordinators, would love to have a conversation.

Home Hospice North Lanark is here to walk alongside you—because no one should navigate illness or caregiving alone.
