(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – On April 9, 2013 at approximately 10:45 am a woman drove her vehicle into the rear parking lot of the Carleton Place Police Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and crashed into parked police vehicles.
A pedestrian was in the parking lot and observed a woman driving a grey 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier enter the parking lot and crash into the side of a marked OPP vehicle. She then proceeded to drive her car into four other marked police vehicles. All police vehicles were unoccupied at the time and no one was injured. Two OPP vehicles sustained moderate damage, one vehicle minor damage and two vehicles minimal damage. The woman’s vehicle sustained minor damage. After hitting the vehicles, the woman drove her vehicle to the front detachment parking lot where she was promptly arrested by police.
As a result, 36 year-old Angela PORTEOUS of Carleton Place is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and five counts of Mischief Under $5000. PORTEOUS was remanded into custody and is to appear for a Bail Hearing at Perth Court on April 10, 2013 at 1:00pm.
