Centennial Cup Lawn Bowling held at the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club

by Al Jones Centennial lawn Bowling A wet and rainy morning never daunted the fervor of the six visiting Clubs that came to the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club on the 29 June to challenge for our Centennial Cup trophy. Happily the afternoon turned sunny and warm to greet the teams as they played their final two games after enjoying a wonderful lunch put on by the Almonte Club. Our Almonte bowlers put up a valiant effort but at the end of the day the trophy was claimed by a visiting team.  Next up…the Doreen Morgan Memorial Tournament on 1 August when our Club will again have a chance to compete against the valley best.
