Dallas O’Connor — obituary

O’Connor (nee Colterman), Dallas Mary Mildred

Dec 24 1935 – Feb 10 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Dallas O’Connor announce her passing at 90 from complications of surgery.

She is predeceased by her Husband Tom in 2007 and survived by her children Kim(Terry), Sean (Karen) and Daniel (Amardeep). Also survived by her grandchildren Caleb (Tiffany) and Aidan (Vanessa).  Mom is survived as well by her sister Lois and predeceased by siblings Micheal (Corinne), Vincent, Mona (Carl), Clarence (Rita), Leonard (Teresa), Dorothy (Forbes), Hubert, Emmett (Frances), Marion (Ray) and Zita.  Dallas was born to Joseph and Josephine (Blimkie) Colterman and raised on the family farm on Flat Rd in Dacre.

After graduating high school mom entered nurses training at St Vincent du Paul in Brockville and the Civic Hospital in Ottawa. It was during this time she met Tom, her future husband and formed many great lifelong friendships with fellow nurses.  She always spoke with gratitude and fondness of the years she lived with her sister Mona and family during her training. Mom went on to have a long wonderful career nursing in Brockville and then at Almonte General Hospital where she was well respected and loved by all who knew her.

Mom loved to play piano and sing, especially at family gatherings singing about her home Dacre or at mass singing the hymns. She was a devout Catholic and a life  long member of the CWL.  She was also a member of the Canadian Legion.

As per mom’s wishes there is no viewing and a graveside ceremony will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Almonte ON.

Our family extend our greatest gratitude to Dr Bastin-Millar and the entire staff of Maple Ridge Retirement Community in Carleton Place for their care and compassion with mom during her stay.

Anyone wishing to make donations in Dallas’s memory are encouraged to do so at the War Amps of Canada.
