The Ramsay W.I. Wishes to acknowledge the service provided by the local Almonte Fish and Game Club for the hours spent cutting grass, dealing with garbage and even outhouses in order that the park near Blakeney on the Mississippi River is in good shape for all the visitors who enjoy a picnic or a walk through the trails.
Earlier this month when the historic plaque that our Women’s Institute erected in 2010 went missing-snapped off at the base, we feared the worst but Paul Laforce and other members found it lying on the ground and were able to repair the stand and attached it to the rock, higher up above the parking lot. Luckily the map was undamaged.
Thank you so much for your efforts on our behalf and we hope visitors will pick up after their dogs and help to keep the park clean. Volunteers have really taken on quite a task to look after a beautiful area that although owned by the provincial government, seems to be forgotten by them.
Keep up the good work.
