On a sunny, dry Saturday, June 13th, in Almonte, Augusta St. Park was the very lucky recipient of a $5000.00 grant cheque presented by Kelly O’Reilly, Area Manager of CST Canada – Ultramar.  Friends and neighbours of Augusta Street Park are very pleased to put this money towards rejuvenation efforts in the park.

On that day, 8 employees of Ultramar/Country Style pitched in to help build an accessible pathway through the park.  These new and old friends of the park worked to shovel, wheel, spread, and pack stone dust on the walkway.  With this help, and that of Glen Gordon and his mini excavator a few days later, we are happy to announce that Augusta Street Park has an accessible pathway from one end of the park across the new bridge to the other end.  Drop by and check out Augusta, “the people’s park” and don’t forget about our “5 Wednesdays in July” free music concert series starting on July 8th this year.
