June is Bicycle Month in Mississippi Mills and it got off to a great start today as the RIMM (Riding in Mississippi Mills) Rovers joined the Carleton Place based Rusty Spokes for their annual sponsor ride to support Bicycle Month. Under sunny skies, the two groups cycled from the Daily Scoop in Almonte to Carleton Place and return, stopping in Appleton along the way.
This is one of many events that will be happening this month to promote safe cycling in our community. All the details can be found on the Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month web site (mmbm.ca) and on Facebook.
Pictured are Bernie MacDonald (on the table in the red shirt) long time point person for the Rusty Spokes, John Peters (beside Bernie in the blue shirt) point person for the RIMM Rovers, and cyclists from both groups.
