Help send Katharina Kneip on next stage of journey, December 27

by Don Johnston

On Wednesday evening, December 17th, a full house at the Mississippi Mills Library in Almonte was treated to an inspiring talk given by an extraordinary young woman who is about halfway through her walk around the world. Katharina Kneip is an artist from Germany who has been circumnavigating the earth for almost three years exclusively by foot, ski and sailboat on a northern route for her art project Round:Motion. In July she entered Canada in Newfoundland, coming by sailboat from Iceland and since then walked and sailed all the way to Mississippi Mills, where she is currently preparing the next part of her journey through the winter and further across Canada.

Those wishing to give her a warm sendoff on her cold journey should check her Facebook page (round:motion) for the time of her departure, tentatively planned for Saturday morning, December 27th from the Almonte Library at 9 am. Perhaps some of us will accompany her on her way out of town.
