On April 5, 2015, Council passed a motion declaring April 10-16 Volunteer Week in Mississippi Mills. Council is proud of and wished to recognize community volunteers. Volunteers enrich the lives of those around them by helping make our community a strong and vital place to live.
On Wednesday April 13th, the Municipality of Mississippi Mills C&EDC and the Almonte Civitan Club co-hosted a Volunteer Appreciation wine and cheese to say thank you to all Mississippi Mills volunteers. A happy and appreciative crowd attended. All wanted to recognize their fellow volunteers and to celebrate just how significant the work volunteers do is.

Miss Mills was on hand to welcome the volunteers and to pose with them for photographs taken by Civitan Bob Lesser. Almonte Civitan Club President Alice Puddington and Counsellor Alex Gillis welcomed the crowd of over 225 volunteers from throughout Mississippi Mills. The importance of the activities the volunteers do in support of the community was emphasized by them. Where would we be without our volunteers?
